Here are my top of 3 best Bitcoin development contributors:
- Satoshi Nakamoto
There is no need to say much about Satoshi. There’s been a lot of speculation who Satoshi Nakamoto is. What’s for sure is that he was the inventor of Bitcoin, the person who published the original Bitcoin paper and created the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain.
- Hal Finney
Hal Finney is one of the most prominent Bitcoin contributors in the early days of its development. He was the first to test for Satoshi Nakamoto’s code who received the first BTC transaction in 2009. Prior to this, Finney was heavily involved in the cypherpunk movement, and he created the first reusable PoW (Proof of Work) system in 2004.
Finney died in August 2014 after a 5-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was still coding in 2013, even though he was “essentially paralyzed” by his illness.
- Gavin Anderson
Andresen was the lead developer for a part of the BTC. He discovered bitcoin in 2010 and quickly recognized the brilliance of its design. Soon after he created the first The Bitcoin Faucet, which gave away gave out 5 BTC per person.
After joining the developers contributing to BTC along with Satoshi Nakamoto, he went on to become the lead developer of the client software for the bitcoin network known as Bitcoin Core. He has worked on improving the code after the system was launched, talked to Satoshi Nakamoto remotely for about a year. Over time, it was Gavin Anderson who became his contact for a team of enthusiasts from around the world who worked to improve BTC code.
