Super Computer Predicts Final Positions of This Season’s Premier League Table

A super computer used by Football Web Pages – via the Daily Star – has predicted the final Premier League table come the end of the season.

The prediction uses an algorithm based on every goal scored in the league this season to work out the likely position of each team.

There are, of course, no surprises when it comes to the side expected to win the league. Chelsea are predicted to finish eight points ahead of runners up Tottenham and third placed Manchester City with 90 points. Antonio Conte’s side need 21 points from their remaining ten games to guarantee the title, and it appears that no team will get close to challenging them.
Liverpool are the side considered most likely to complete the top four, above Arsenal, who could miss out for the first time under Arsene Wenger, and Manchester United, who are predicted to finish sixth, which would no doubt cue social media hilarity.

Everton and West Brom stay where they are, above Southampton, who are expected to make use of their games in hand to break into the top half, and Burnley, predicted to finish impressively in tenth.

Champions Leicester climb to 13th, while the bottom three is at it is now in reality, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull. Swansea are predicted to narrowly avoid the drop, by just one point, while Crystal Palace are more comfortable under Sam Allardyce, and West Ham drop to 15th
