Spurs Star Is ‘Undoubtedly Good Enough’ to Play for Real Madrid Claims Club Legend

Former Real Madrid left-back Roberto Carlos has urged his old club to sign Tottenham’s Dele Alli this summer.

The Englishman has had another fine year at White Hart Lane and is currently the highest scoring midfielder in the Premier League this season.

His spectacular form has seen him linked with a move to the Bernabeu this summer, as Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane prepares to add yet more quality to his squad.

And though there has been no official suggestion that Madrid will come knocking for Alli at the end of the season, former ‘Galactico’ Roberto Carlos has admitted he would like to see the 21-year-old head to the Spanish capital.

When asked whether he would like to see Real sign Alli, the former Brazil international said, as quoted by the Sun: “Yes, definitely!

“He’s a brilliant player. I love him, I’ve seen him play some great games in England. Of course, it’s not up to me — transfers will, of course, be decided by the president.

“But, we definitely could sign him. He is undoubtedly good enough for Real Madrid.”

Alli’s price tag is rumoured to be in the region of £80m, whilst Los Blancos are also keen on signing Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

Club president Florentino Perez has insisted that the club have the capabilities to break the world record transfer fee to sign a top player this summer, but despite the talk, Carlos forecasts a quiet window ahead for his former club as he believes that they have enough quality already.

He added: “I think Real Madrid will be fairly inactive as they already have the best players in the world, so they don’t need to buy anyone.”
