5 Phones Expected To Come With Edge-To-Edge Displays In 2017

The smartphone industry picks up new trends every year and once leading smartphone makers pick up a certain trend, the whole industry beginsto lean toward it. Edge-to-edge displays is one such trend that’sexpected to emerge in 2017.Phones To Come With Edge-To-Edge Displays

So, what are edge-to-edge displays? Well, iflook at the front side of any smartphone, you might see that the edges top, bottom, right and left take up a lot of space in frame of the device. Edge-to-edge displays eliminate the side bezels and minimize the top and bottom ones. Now, the user has a bigger screen area, including the edges.

Smartphone makers have been trying for a long time to make the smartphone screen more usable for consumers. Recently, LG endowed its G6 smartphone with an 18:9 screen ratioQHD+ display, which has been called a near edge-to-edge display since it minimizes but doesnt totally eliminate the side bezels.

But many upcoming smartphones are expected to feature a complete edge-to-edge display. These include:

Samsung Galaxy S8: Going by the multiple rumors, leaks and Samsungs patent registration, the device is more or less confirmed to feature an edge-to-edge Super AMOLED display. To accommodate an edge-to-edge display and minimize the top and bottom bezels, Samsung is expected to get rid of its home button, which has been there since the first-generation Samsung Galaxy S device. Instead, the company is expected to go for a display-embedded fingerprint sensor.

The device is also expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an Iris scanner and Samsungs artificial intelligence-based voice assistant Bixby.
